The new course deals with current trends, challenges and perspectives in the digitization of the railroad. It consists of lectures, guest lectures by leading industry experts, and seminars in which students present and discuss their findings on a self-selected topic related to the course content.
Alternatively, students may choose from a handful of pre-selected topics. In addition to the presentations, a short seminar paper on the chosen topic must be submitted at the end of the course. In addition to learning about digitization in the railroad sector, students will have the opportunity to improve their skills regarding presenting in front of a group and scientific writing.
