As part of a visit to the RWTH lasting several days, a group of students on a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation paid a visit to the IFS. Professor Schindler introduced the institute and answered the numerous questions of the participants, who came from all over Germany and even from Innsbruck.
Although very few of them are studying a subject related to railroads, the general knowledge and interest in the subject area was very high. More than half of the almost 30-strong group have a Germany ticket. After a half-hour workshop in which group work was used to discuss requirements for the future of rail transport and corresponding solutions, a tour of the test hall took place.
The Aachen Rail Shuttle, which is currently being completed in our hall, naturally attracted a great deal of interest.
The event concluded with a ride in the LVT/S diesel railcars on the institute's own track.
