Component and system development
For years now, our institute has been known for its innovative development of running gear. The investigations on this field, as well as on the complete vehicle development, are carried out with the use of the latest product development methods aiming at new concepts for tomorrow’s rail transport. The application of lightweight materials and new joining techniques play a major role here as well as new manufacturing processes, like additive manufacturing. In addition, we develop other vehicle components and products that support the rail transport as well. The intermodal freight transport plays an important role in this context.
