The ministries of transport of Thailand and Germany have signed a common declaration of intent with regard to the intensified cooperation in the field of rail transport. Stronger exchange activities (exchange of experts, joint events and projects) both at government offices and educational institutions, as well as in the private sector, have been planned.
The declaration of intent should have the potential to lay the foundations for a large number of new and existing cooperation activities. The currently ongoing activities of the Siemens company and the RWTH Aachen, in which the IFS is directly involved, are explicitly mentioned in the recommendations of the diplomatic correspondence paper.
