IFS carries out measurement runs at zb Zentralbahn AG

For the long-term reduction of rail production costs at zb Zentralbahn AG (Switzerland), the vision of an adhesion mountain train is being pursued. This train should be able to travel over the Brünig (approx. 1000 m NN) with a gradient of 125 per mille without a cogwheel.
In December 2021, the first test runs with a test carrier vehicle took place in the Engelberg tunnel (gradient 105 per mille) at Zentralbahn in cooperation with IFS and Aare Seeland mobil AG (ASm).

The results are already very promising, so the vision will be pursued further.

The Swiss television SRF covered the event with a report.
