Chaired by Prof. Burkhard Corves, IGMR RWTH Aachen, Carolina Archut took her oral examination at the IFS. The topic of her dissertation is: “Development of a method for mechanical weeding for vegetation management on railway tracks.”
With great interest from colleagues, friends, and family, she first gave her presentation on “Interior design of rail vehicles – more than just seats.”
The examiners were Prof. Christian Schindler from the IFS and Prof. Beate Bender from the Technical University of Berlin. Prof. Raphael Pfaff participated in the proceedings as an assessor.
After passing the exam, she was awarded her doctoral cap, which was decorated with many humorous scenes. In glorious early spring sunshine, the “doctoral locomotive” was boarded and the obligatory, cheerful trip to the market square was undertaken.
