IFS at the International Wheelset Congress in Chengdu

The 18^th International Wheelset Congress, which is organised at different locations every three years since 1963, took place this time in Chengdu, China. Besides the world’s leading wheelset manufacturers and the respective suppliers, a number of universities were also present. The IFS was represented by the team leader of the structural integrity group, Dr.-Ing. Florian Dörner, with a presentation about the analysis of the characteristics of the wheel-rail contact. Contact with international experts was established and the huge laboratories for railway vehicles of the Southwest Jiaotong University were visited. In China, the rail traffic has a significantly higher importance than in Europe.
