The IFS has received a research contract from the renowned German roller coaster manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH.
In the field of amusement rides, which comprise roller coasters and flat rides according to the corresponding standard, rail-guided vehicles are used. The technology underlying these spectacular constructions will be investigated within the scope of the project. The project is particularly focused on the fatigue-resistant construction and calculation of roller coaster vehicles. In this respect, the Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH can benefit from the years of experience and broad range of equipment of the IFS. Apart from this, it is now possible for interested students to come into contact with this exciting field and to take part in the research project via project, bachelor’s or master’s theses.
