On the occasion of the successful signing of the contract for the use of the locomotive IFS 3 D 3, the ZLSM (Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij) invited us to a special trip on Oct. 19, 2018. The special train pulled by our locomotive drove from the stop Vetschau near Aachen to the station Simpelveld. There, the symbolic handing over of the original D 3 coal shovel by Prof. Schindler to Mr. Martin Eurlings as a sign of the trusting cooperation took place.
In the excellently restored Simpelveld station-building we were officially welcomed and received a small snack, which the chef had prepared for us. There was then the opportunity to visit the workshop of the ZLSM, before it went back to Vetschau in glorious sunshine.
