The Research Center Railways of RWTH Aachen University (RCR) was represented with the institutes VIA, ISEA and IFS at the joint stand of the VDV (Association of German Transport Companies) with its own stand in Hall 2.2. Current projects and research projects were presented on a large screen at the booth. On the outdoor area, the company Zwiehoff showed a shunting robot, Rotrac E2, equipped by IFS with sensor technology and AI, which is able to track in autonomously.
Due to the central location of the RCR booth, many trade fair visitors became aware of it. Potential, current and former project partners, former employees and students as well as current students deliberately sought out the booth to say "hello" or to discuss a concern. The many academic staff members from the three institutes who staffed the booth were scheduled so that they had plenty of time and opportunity to visit the many attractions at Innotrans.
We are already looking forward to the next InnoTrans in September 2024.
