Scientific Advisory Board of the DZSF elects chairperson

On October 27, 2021, the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Center for Rail Transport Research (DZSF) met at the Federal Railway Authority in Berlin for this year's fall meeting. At this meeting, the members elected Prof. Schraudner as chairperson of the advisory board. Prof. Cichon is the deputy chairman.

The scientific advisory board of the DZSF is appointed by the president of the Federal Railway Authority. It had its constituent meeting in May 2021, which could only take place virtually due to the pandemic. The appointment documents were handed over at the autumn meeting.

The advisory board has the tasks

to make regular recommendations on the professional and scientific performance of the DZSF,
to advise on the development of medium- and long-term goals and to provide expert advice upon request, as well as
to promote cooperation with other research institutions.
The fall meeting laid a good foundation for further collaboration. The advisory board members discussed the current and future work content of the DSZF with representatives of the DZSF, the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). The importance of the DZSF as a federal departmental research institution was unanimously emphasized, as rail as a mode of transport had not been represented in the BMVI's range of departmental research institutions until its foundation.
