Kick-off meeting for EU-Project Ben@Rail

The official start of the EU-funded Project “Ben@Rail” has taken place on October 4th in form of a virtual kick-off meeting. The project is part of the EU-funding programme Shift2Rail and receives a total funding of around 170,000 € and aims to analyse and rate future research and development activities of the European Union in order to adapt them responding to the stakeholders’ needs. Therefore, the requirements of the stakeholders in the European railway system are identified and used to evaluate the upcoming research activities.

During the 9-month duration, the Institute for Rail Vehicles and Transport Systems will work together with the Institute of Transport Science and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm on the individual project subtasks. The fourth consortium member is the EURNEX e.V. which is responsible for all matters on project management. Within the consortium, IFS’ work will focus on stakeholder and requirement gathering and analysis as well as classifying the future EU research activities.
